Elementary Attendance Boundary Review

During the February 28 SLP School Board Meeting, Superintendent Osei discussed possible elementary attendance boundary changes to address capacity challenges at Aquila Elementary. You can view the presentation with this link, starting at about 1:55. A timeline, including listening and engagement events, was shared at the meeting.

It may be subject to change, but provided below for reference.

Superintendent Osei presented at the PTO meeting on March 20 where he shared more information, welcomed and encouraged dialogue from the community. The current boundaries can be found here.

As part of the work being done, Superintendent Osei and his team wanted to pose the following questions to community members. Please feel free to email him your responses or contact him directly.

  • What questions do you have about the possible boundary change and the impact on your family and/or school communities impacted?
  • Whether your family may stay at Aquila or attend Hobart or Lindgren, what does your family need to ensure a smooth transition of this possible change?

Tuesday, May 2 from 6:00-7:30pm in the Aquila Cafeteria will be a family engagement session. Please attend if you are able.

The kendama is a traditional Japanese skill toy. It strengthens hand eye coordination, balance and reflex.  It can be played by young and old alike. There are endless trick possibilities for both the beginner and the seasoned master. The Kendama is made up of the “Ken” (handle) and the “Tama” (ball), which is connected by a string.

Thank You Lunchroom Helpers!

A BIG Thank you to all of the community members who have volunteered during lunch at Aquila!

Your presence was appreciated and did not go unnoticed. It is a lot of work to move over 500 students through the lunchroom in less than 3 hours and washing tables, opening milk cartons, sorting trays all helps!

The school can always use more help, please consider volunteering again or spreading the word to those who can!
